Papa & Grammy's visit

Amberlin really enjoyed her time with Grammy & Papa during their visit. We did all kinds of fun stuff including visits to Newport Beach, Downtown Disney and lots more! Here are some photos from our fun time...

San Diego Zoo

Papa and Grammy are here visiting from Colorado this weekend, so we have been doing all kinds of fun stuff! Friday we went to the San Diego Zoo to see the animals. We've been wanting to take Amberlin to see the animals for a while now and it turned out to be a perfect day! It was about 70 degrees and a little bit overcast - just enough to keep the sun out of your eyes. Amberlin was SO GOOD! She slept all the way down there, kept a smile for most of the day and enjoyed the zoo, then slept all the way home. We were so proud of her.

Mother's Day

To celebrate my first Mother's Day, we went back to Disneyland on Saturday (Surprise! That's always where I choose to go... Disneyland or Duke's). Amberlin decided to stay awake this time! We had a lot of fun and she really enjoyed watching all of the people and activity going on around her. Andy spoiled me... first by turning Mother's Day into a weekend-long celebration and also by getting me some very thoughtful gifts... a silhouette portrait of the three of us and a Mickey Mouse locket.
I often wonder how I ever got so lucky to score a husband that is so thoughtful and romantic! These two are the most precious, priceless gifts I could ever ask for!
"Mom - you're in my space!"

She didn't like the ears!

On Sunday we had a lovely brunch at the Mission Inn with my parents and Grandma Noani. Mom and Dad got me a gift certificate for Kelly's spa so Mom, Staci and I are going to go get a massage and a facial together! Yea!!
We will get to continue our Mother's Day celebration later this week because Andy's parents are coming to visit! We can't wait to see Grammy & Papa this Thursday!!

My 29th Birthday

For my birthday this year, we took Amberlin to Disneyland so that we could get the free gift card that the park is giving to people on their birthdays. It was her first trip to the park. We couldn't stay very long and she slept through most of it, but it was fun to take her there... back to where it all began! (For those of you that don't know, we met at Disneyland.)

We had a great lunch at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen with my favorite dessert, Bananas Foster.
Then we headed home for the Lifespring softball game - my other favorite activity as of late.
We had dinner that night at Ooka... good hibachi & sushi!
Celebrating with my family is my favorite way to celebrate. This year has been truly blessed! Actually... every year in my 20's has! I can't wait to see what my 30's bring!

Our 6th Anniversary

We took our first break from parenting and had a night out to celebrate our 6th Anniversary in March. Our anniversary is actually on the 22nd, but we celebrated on the 21st because we had a family gathering on the 22nd to attend. Mom and Dad babysat for us while we went to Duke's in Huntington Beach and to Downtown Disney.

It's hard to believe it's been six years since our wedding - and ten years that we have been together! Time flies when you're having fun - and every year just keeps getting better and better! :)

Chenee and Guillaume

I have fallen behind in posting, so the next few entries are on events that happened a while ago, but I wanted to make sure I got them up because there were some very important events that occurred! The first was a visit from Chenee and Guillaume, our cousins from the Netherlands. We were so thrilled to get to see them - it's been a couple years since their last visit and we always enjoy having them around! They're two very special people... and soon there will be another special person in their family! We learned last week that they are expecting their first baby and we couldn't be more excited for them!! They got in some practice while they were here - first with Ella (Michael and Marie's little girl and their niece), then with Amberlin. They were both wonderful with her and I know that they are going to make WONDERFUL parents! We're so happy for them.

Here are some photos from their visit.

Easter 2009

We spent Easter with family this year, as is our tradition. There was a great Easter celebration service at Lifespring and then a big family dinner at Grandma's house. We had hoped to get to Flagstaff to visit some friends for the weekend, but with illness just starting to go away for Andy and just arriving for Amberlin and I, those plans just didn't work out.

Amberlin really likes the Easter Bunny!
