Segway Adventure

The guys went on the segway tour at California Adventure on Saturday. This is something that Andy and I did a few years ago and we have been wanting to take Dad - we knew he would love it. Since it's not really appropriate for babies, I stayed home with Amberlin and they made it a guys' day - our brother-in-law went in with Andy to take Dad on the tour. They had a great time!

Coming back from restroom break. When you've been riding a while, your hands stick in that position. :)

Our Big Girl

She's sitting up! We are absolutely loving every new little thing she starts doing. She is such a talker... I wonder where she got that? :)

Father's Day

We had a relaxing Father's Day today. After church we went to Claim Jumper for lunch with the family and then we came home and rested. Amberlin and I did our best to spoil Daddy as much as possible. We are so blessed to have such a wonderful man in our life and we are SO THANKFUL for him!!

Since we were home, we decided to give Amberlin rice cereal for the first time today. She did really well. She liked it at first and didn't spit much of it out - but then she definitely let us know when she was finished! We tried to upload a video, but they are too big. Pictures will just have to do! :)

After her cereal time, we used Skype to call Papa and wish him a Happy Father's Day. Skype is so cool - we have been able to video conference multiple times this week with Grammy and Papa. It's not as great as seeing them in person - but it's definitely a close second!! Amberlin loves seeing them on the screen and it's a great interactive experience for her... plus, it's fun for us! :)

The Sweetest Thing

It is wonderful being a parent. It's awesome to watch your child grow and learn. It's so fun to see the changes they go through on a daily basis. There is one development that is hands down my FAVORITE thing in the world. Take a look...

Lifespring Softball

Our softball team came in second place in the league this season! Tonight was the playoffs and the championship game. We had to play the #1 team in the league and we beat them to move on to the championship game! I say "we" like I play - I'm just the #1 fan. :) Andy plays, along with Dad, Staci, Mike, Uncle Mike and quite a few other men from our church. They did an awesome job.

Steven is a High School Graduate!

About seventeen years ago, I walked into the fellowship hall at Lifespring very anxious to meet my new little cousin, Steven Joshua. He was about the age Amberlin is now. It seems like that was just yesterday, and yet somehow my "little" cousin now towers over all of us and here we are - celebrating the man that Steven has become and the fact that he is now a High School graduate! We are so proud of him and his accomplishments. Way to go, Steven!

4 Month Check-Up

Amberlin had her four month check-up today. She's still tall, although her percentile ranking fell a bit... she measured 25 inches and is in the 75th percentile for height. She's in the 50th percentile for weight at 13 lb, 7 oz. The immunizations were a bit more emotional this time around - I don't think the nurse was as gentle today as the last one was. But after a short nap, Amberlin seems to be recovering alright. :)

The doctor said we can start Amberlin on rice cereal and move to oatmeal in a few weeks if she does well with it, but no other food until 6 months. I know that will be here before we know it!

Birthday Surprise

We flew to Colorado last weekend to surprise our Dad for his birthday. Surprisingly, we were able to pull it off! We got there without him figuring it out - even with my mother-in-law sneaking all kinds of baby stuff into the house for Amberlin.

Amberlin did great on the flight. This was her first time on an airplane and we were thankful that no one sat in our row on the way there. We were able to spread out a little more and let the baby lay on the seat for part of the flight. She slept though both take-off and landing and was in a great mood in-between. She really did well!

Unfortunately, I got really sick while we were there. It kind of spoiled the trip for me, but thankfully Dad and Mom were able to help take care of the baby (it didn't take much convincing!) while I slept and tried to recover.

Amberlin got a lot of quality time with her Grammy and Papa. Although I missed much of the weekend, we had a great visit! It was so nice to be able to be with Dad for his birthday. That is the first time we have been able to be there for one, but hopefully there will be more to come.
