Memorial Day

We celebrated Memorial Day at Steve & LeeAnn's this week. We were able to see Ryan, our cousin (and Uncle Randy's son) for the first time in quite a few years. It was great to see him again! We had a nice relaxing day talking and hanging out around the pool (although it was too cold to get in!), having a barbecue and enjoying Andy's card tricks.

Montreal, Take II

Here are some photos from our time around Montreal doing non-wedding related stuff. Well, the shopping was for the wedding but you know what I mean... :) We had a fun time seeing some of the city and spending time with Blythe's friends, all of whom we loved! It's a beautiful place that we look forward to exploring more of in the future.

Welcome, Baby Angelo!

Angel gave birth on Thursday, May 22 to a beautiful baby boy named Angelo. He weighed 7 lbs. 14 oz and measured in at 18 1/2 inches. He looks a lot like Angel, but there is no question that he's an O'Brien baby!

Congratulations, Uncle Doug & Angel! We love you guys & can't wait to meet the little guy...

Rainy Evening

Our family & several friends went as a group to the Dodgers vs. Cardinals baseball game last night. We had a great time, even though there ended up being over an hour in rain delay in the 9th inning. The Cardinals were victorious - no doubt in tribute to Grandpa, who we planned this outing to honor. :) We named our (rather large) group the Rip Collins Memorial and they even put a welcome up on the screen with the other groups that were there.

I think the rain made it even more fun than the games usually are - it sure did bring on a lot of laughter! It's rare for us to have these cold, rainy weather conditions so I think everyone had fun with it.

Blythe's Wedding

This is the first of several posts about our time in Montreal. I took so many pictures that there is no way I can fit them all into one post!

Blythe and Peter's wedding was beautiful. We really enjoyed our time in the city. We made new friends and reunited with people we hadn't seen in a long time on top of getting to be there for our sister (and our new brother in law!) on one of the most important days of their life. The wedding went off without a hitch and everything was delightful! We're so happy for Blythe and Pete and look forward to sharing in their life.

Mother's Day

We spent Mother's Day at the Webbs' house this year. We had a great relaxing afternoon enjoying and celebrating the mothers in our family. The only thing missing was our other Mom! But we're looking forward to seeing her and the rest of the Warns side of the family in Montreal later this week.

As we always are on Mother's Day, we were reminded this year of how truly blessed we are to have the mothers that we have. Laurie and Beth are both wonderful, beautiful and admirable women that have raised their children in the Truth, loved their husbands through thick and thin and supported their families whatever the cost. They are treasures in our life and we love them and appreciate them more than cards, words, flowers or gifts could ever express. They have played a huge role in molding us into who we are and they are women that I look up to and pray that I some day take after. I could say the same for the other important women in our life - grandma's & aunts. We are downright spoiled to have so many wonderful Christian women in our lives! We love them all.

Sorry if I'm getting a little sappy - come on, it's for our moms! How can you not get sappy when recognizing your mom? I'll reign it in a bit... Here are some pictures from the barbecue that we had at Steve & LeeAnn's.



Blythe's wedding is coming up this Saturday. We leave on Wednesday and will get to spend a few days there with her and the rest of the family before the ceremony. We're looking forward to seeing Andy's Aunt and Uncle, as well. This will be the first time I've had the opportunity to meet them and it will be the first time Andy has seen them in a very long time. We will be meeting our new extended family, as well. :) It should be fun! Don't worry - I'm sure there will be about a million and a half pictures to post when we get back! You won't miss a thing...

Padres Game

On Saturday we got to hang out with my good friend, Melissa and her husband, Mark. We headed down in the afternoon and had dinner together, then headed over to the Padres game. We capped the night off with a Ghirardelli Sunday and then headed back home. It was a short trip, but it was so great to get a chance to spend a little bit of time with them.

March Air Show

We went to the Air Show at March Air Reserve Base (where Dad is stationed) on Saturday. We had a really fun time watching the Thunderbirds and looking at the planes and jets. We can't wait to go again! We learned a few things that will make the next trip more enjoyable.

Lesson #1: Come early so you get a good parking spot and don't have to walk a mile and a half to and from your car.

Lesson #2: Bring chairs. The asphalt is not very comfortable.

Lesson #3: Don't wear new flip flops - all that walking to and from the car creates blisters!

Lesson #4: Don't forget sunscreen!

Even with all of these things that we didn't think about, we still had a REALLY fun time and look forward to the next one! Here are some pictures from the event...

A Glimpse of the Auction

Ever wonder what the auction is like? I took some pictures for a display we're making for a career fair and I thought I would give you guys a little glimpse into my world of work. A lot of people think of a dirt lot and a small parking lot of cars when I say I work at a wholesale auction. That's not quite accurate...



We're pretty big. We have about 615 employees right now - and we're growing. And we sell a LOT of cars, as you can see. ;)
