Ultrasound #2

We had our second ultrasound today and the baby looks much more like a baby now - less like a grain of rice. :) It's still difficult to make out - sonograms are never easy to see - so I put little pointers on one of the pictures. I will upload it with and without them because it's hard to see the image on the one with the descriptions! Click on the image for a larger version.

The doctor said that everything looks perfect and the baby looks healthy. There was a strong, fast heartbeat which was exactly what he was listening for.

4th of July

We went to Uncle Rick's house in Laguna Niguel for Independence Day. We celebrated the holiday with good barbecue, swimming, catch and family time.

Family Night

For our family night last week, we went to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes game. They played a great game with a LONG center stretch, but an ending that made it all worth it with a come from behind victory. We love our family nights - it's the best part of our week!

Weekend with Derek

Dinner with Derek at Duke's
Our good friend, Derek, made it out to Southern California last weekend to spend some time with us. We always enjoy when we get to hang out with him. It's kind of like having our brother come home for the weekend. Plus, he always has new adventures to share, so it's never boring! (To read about some of his travels, visit his blog: http://www.theworldbysea.com/. You will not be disappointed!)

Andy bought me this pretty lei
We happened to have tickets to the LA Film festival that weekend and since I (Steff) was feeling under the weather, Derek went in my place. Along with Staci and Mike, the guys attended a preview of the new X-Files movie that is coming out. It included interviews with David Duchovney and Chris Carter (creator & director). Everyone had a great time.

Big News to Share!

This is probably the biggest and most important news that I have ever shared through a blog, but I'm so excited to talk about it! If you are our close friends and we have not gotten ahold of you yet, I apologize that this is how you are finding out. There are a few of you that are somewhat unreachable or out of the country.

So.... here it is......

We're having a baby!

Andy and I are so excited to share this news. We found out last Monday and have been a little shocked all week. It all seems very surreal, but after three pregnancy tests and finally, today, having an ultrasound... it's official! We're pregnant!

When we went in for the ultrasound today, everything looked good. She said everything appeared to be very healthy and we even got to hear the heartbeat! They placed us at about six weeks along and gave us a due date in early February. The baby is only about a half centimeter in length at this point! If you want to try to find it in the ultrasound below, it's in between two tiny little + signs. :)

We can't wait to experience all of the joy that this little one will bring into our lives!

Timothy's Jr. High Graduation

Our cousin, Timothy, graduated from Earhart Middle School last week and will be attending King High School next year. We're so proud of both him and his brother, Steven. They're both great kids (if I can still call them kids - they tower over me!) and a lot of fun to be around.

Congratulations, Mike!

Congratulations to our brother in law, Mike! Yesterday he passed the test for his Contractor's license! This is a really difficult test and most people do not pass it the first time they take it - but Mike did! Yea!! Now he can really get serious about getting his business going and advertising. We're so proud of him.

Way to go, Mike!
